MULTIMEDIA

Along with serving as editor of The Bear Facts, I also have done work in broadcast journalism.

BRUIN BASKETBALL LIVE
Previewing the boys basketball game
on the radio and streaming TV.
Most recently, I served as the Voice of Bruin Basketball, the play-by-play announcer for our student-produced live streaming webcast of St. Joe boys basketball games that people watched on Bruin Broadcastings website, www.stjoebruins.live, as well as the Bruin News Now YouTube channel. The gamers also were broadcast live on WJXC Jackson, Mississippi Catholic Radio, 107.9 - whose studios are in our journalism classroom.

Here is an excerpt of our broadcast from Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, where I provided play-by-play analysis of the St. Joe-Pisgah basketball game.

Here is a 15-minute excerpt from the Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, webcast and broadcast of the St. Joe-Mize basketball game.

THE MICHAEL HOWELL SHOW
Besides calling basketball games on radio and streaming TV, I also hosted The Coach Michael Howell Show” - an interview with Bruin basketball Coach Michael Howell. The show was broadcast and webcast before the tip-off of home basketball games. It also was available to download as a podcast on the St. Joe school website, www.stjoebruins.com.

Here are the three shows I produced this year.

BRUIN NEWS NOW

I also have tried my hand at anchoring the news on Bruin News Now, the student-produced weekly newscast that broadcast journalism students report, film, edit and direct. The newscasts are available on the Bruin News Now YouTube channel every Friday.

Sometimes BNN has special editions for breaking news. While I feel more comfortable writing and talking about sports, I did anchor a special edition of BNN on Monday, May 8, 2017. Here is that edition.

And I anchored a regular newscast on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016. Here it is.

Here, I anchored the Bruin Sports segment of our newscast from November 2019.
